Smacking
I wonder why a government that won't even pay back money it stole, can tell parents with a straight face what is best for their children. If they can't act in a moral way in such a big issue - what makes them think they know how children should be brought up?

fair point. These people were likely smacked at birth to start them breathing so they should be paid all our taxes as compensation for that abuse.
Elimination of rights as a means of teaching responsibility is not a means of encouraging responsibility. It's a means of encouraging rebellion against those who refuse to teach responsibility.
