Quote of the Week

I don't mean to sound cocky, but we seem to be really good at everything.

Jono Willis

This quote after Jono and I had finshed playing fooseball this evening.

The Garden

I have increased my herb garden size. It now includes more parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. Further to this, I have curry plant, coriander, and not a few other herbs. If you need any and live nearby, pop around and raid my garden.

The herb garden is not the only new and exciting development in my life. I also have ripped out the hideous shrubs which were the feature of the oldest section of the retaining wall, and replaced them with pansies. Some very pretty pansies too.

And as if this wasn't enough, I also have three fruit shrubs/trees/vines. As well as my two grapevine plants (kindly given by Allan's grandfather), I have bought an orangeberry shrub (surprisingly enough like a blackberry, only orange), a passionfruit vine, and a thornless blackberry bush. Bring on harvest time I say!

Gardens are cool.

A Milepost

Together we have reached this! Thank you! 10,000 is not a small number. 10,000 is a very very big number.

Extreme Garden Makeover

One of our goals at C.I.A. this year was to get our young people more involved in serving others in the church body. So today we split into two groups and went to a couple of people's places and spent a few hours weeding, trimming, and general cleanup work in their gardens. It was a fantastic time! I think the young people were surprised at how much fun serving can be!

My group went to Hugh and Jennie Thompsons, where one of our girls offered to come back and help on a weekly basis! Yay! It's times like this you see God is really working in the young people, and you get excited. But youth ministry is about ups and downs. So enjoy the ups while they are here!
